Puppies

Like two affection-starved puppies they cling to each other
desperate for love
The love they showed each other would have appeared as
nothing to a normal person but for them it was more than they had in a decade
Both were miserable in their lonely empty worlds
Isolation had become de facto
Each on a small asteroid
When they collided they bonded as one
So desperate that they each forgot their differences
But the differences crashed into them sometimes like space
trash
But they were so needy
So fragile
So insecure
But they are not used to feeling insecure
They each sing to the other, "I need not to need"
and say, "I am self-sufficient, I will always survive"
They have always been the Tower.
