Freedom

“Please, give us Freedom,” is their motto
They scratch and claw for independence
Yearning all day to win the lotto
Ignorant of their impending sentence
Give them freedom
Let them do as they wish
Kings of their own kingdom
Annoyances to banish
“Please, control me,” each calls out
They’re terrified alone
They sit around and pout
Wish for a fence around their throne
As the moral of the story goes
No one is ever content
The greener grass the neighbor mows
Humans can never let go nor relent
